Enable Automatic Login

If you are the only user of your laptop / computer, then you may want to disable the login screen to begin with. This is very simple to do, just follow these steps below:

1. Navigate to System -> Administration -> Login Window
2. Enable Automatic Login in the Security tab

Any idea as to how to do this without access to the UI?

I have had a look around, but I have failed to find an answer.

If you are using a server, then I wouldn't recommend it anyway. If you still need to do this, I would advice you to make a post on ubuntuforums.org
